The Library of the Solidarity Archives Association
The entire text collection of the Solidarity Archives is supplemented
by a library numbering almost 1 000 volumes; these include historic
publications concerning the final two decades of the Polish People's
Republic and the history of other socialist countries in Europe. We
hold a comprehensive collection of source materials (presentations of
do*****ents, reminiscences, and accounts) and of informative and
bibliographic publications needed to process and organise the files and
the tape recordings kept in our archives.
Most of our acquisitions are derived from purchases made at bookstores
and used book dealers; secondary sources include gifts from private
individuals and inter-library exchange.
The library maintains an inventory of the book collection, an
alphabetical catalogue (formal summary of the collection), and a
subject catalogue (summary of the collection by topic).
The list set out below includes the titles of abridged printed
materials from the card catalogue of the Solidarity Archives
Association; it is updated as of June 1, 2001. Also included is an
abbreviations key and a list of author bynames and surnames.
The basis for description of individual bibliography items was provided
in the Polish Norm PN-79 N-0122 - "Publishing composition of the book",
specifically in Sheet 07 - "Appendix bibliography". The work is
arranged in alphabetical order.
